Proposals for beam time at Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) will be accepted until Noon Eastern Daylight Time, Wednesday, March 27, 2019. This call is for SNS instruments only for experiments anticipated to run July-December 2019.
HFIR is not included in the March proposal call due an extended outage that began in November 2018. When HFIR resumes operation, the beam time will be reserved for experiments awarded time between November 2018 and June 2019.
Specific information on this call and each of the instruments available during this experimental period is included on the proposal call instrument list. Researchers are encouraged to contact the appropriate instrument scientist to make sure their research is feasible for the instrument. All proposals will be reviewed by an external science review committee for their potential for high-impact science. Principal investigators will be notified regarding the status of their proposals no later than May 22, 2019.
