J-PARC Center is pleased to announce that we will be accepting General Use Proposals (Short-term and One-year) and Long-Term
applications of the 2025B proposal round
(1) General Use Proposals (Short-term, and One-year)
(2)Long-Term Proposals
1. General Use Proposals (Short-term, and One-year)
[Attention]
We will not accept applications from persons affiliated with overseas institutions. This restriction is due to the extremely limited
beam time available for the 2025B period. Priority shall be given to carrying over experiments that could not be conducted during
the 2024B period due to facility troubles to the 2025A period. To prevent excessive competition, applications for the 2025B period
are limited to individuals affiliated with domestic institutions.
[Application period]
from April 17 to May 8, 2025, 17:00 Japan Time (UTC+09:00).
The detailed information of the Call will be available on the web shortly.

[Planned experiment period]
Short-term proposals: from February - March 2026
One-year proposals: from February - June 2026
[Planed beam power]
Planned beam power in 2025B will be announced once it is determined.
[Eligibility]
Eligibility for the 2025B period is limited to researchers and graduate students affiliated with domestic institutions (research
institutes, companies, and universities) in Japan.
2. Long-Term Proposals
[About Long-Term Proposal]
We are calling for Long-Term Proposals which
-- have clear long-term strategy for research and development
-- need proceed in close cooperation with the MLF instrument group
-- are expected to lead to the sophistication of measurement techniques of MLF
-- contribute to human resources development in the nuclear science area.
The validity period is up to 3 years (or 6 proposal rounds); a yearly period of the Long-Term Proposals starts in the B term and
ends in the following A term.
[Application period]
from April 10 to April 24, 2025, 17:00 Japan Time (UTC+09:00).

[Planned experiment period]
From February 2026 - June 2028
[Planed beam power]
Planned beam power will be announced once it is determined.
[Instruments available for LTP proposal]
Neutron Instruments (BL01, BL05, BL06, BL08, BL09, BL10, BL12, BL14, BL15, BL16, BL17, BL18, BL19, BL21, BL22)
[Note]
- Please be sure to use the latest template file. Application not using the latest template file will not be accepted.
- Please consult the instrument scientist before the application regarding the sample environment or experimental conditions
(especially special experimental conditions such as magnetic field), and apply under appropriate conditions.
- With regard to application for beamtime of BL16 (SOFIA), the applicant shall consult the instrument scientists in advance about
the experiment details before applying.
- If you will apply muon instruments and bring in your own equipment other than that provided in the facility, applicant shall
consult the instrument scientist in advance during the preparation stage of the proposal application. Even if a muon section member
will be a collaborator responsible for coordinating with the facility, please note that prior consultation with the instrument
scientist will be strongly required.
-In principle, the instrument scientists will not conduct your experiment on your behalf.
