STFC ISIS Neutron and Muon Source: Round 22-1 call for access to TS2.

Dear Colleague,

Applications are now invited for access to Target Station 2 (TS2) instruments, only, at the STFC ISIS and Muon Source at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.

Access likely to be scheduled March to July 2022

The deadline for applications is 17:00 BST (Prompt) on Wednesday 20 October 2021

More information, including how to apply, can be found on the ISIS user website and the call webpage.

Applicants are strongly recommended to contact an appropriate Facility staff member to discuss requirements before applying, even if you have previously submitted a proposal.

Before applying, please note:

  • This call is for TS2 instruments only.  This is because TS2 will be operational before TS1 following the ISIS long shutdown
  • A call for both TS1 and TS2 will be invited next year with deadline of 20 April 2022
  • ISIS will return to pre-Covid ways of running experiments after the long shutdown (assuming Covid rules allow this at the time).  This means that you will need to provide a team to come to ISIS to run the experiment
  • Due to a recent fire in the Deuteration Facility Synthetic Lab, we are not currently inviting requests for D-materials during this round
