Applications are now invited for access to Target Station 1 and 2 instruments, at the STFC ISIS and Muon Source at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.

Please note that IRIS and OSIRIS are not available this call, due to hydrogen moderator commissioning activities delaying the start of the user programme to these instruments after the TS1 shutdown. Please contact Stewart Parker with any queries.

Access likely to be scheduled from March 2024

The deadline for applications is 17:00 BST (prompt) on Wednesday 18 October 2023

More information, including how to apply, can be found on the call webpage.

Applicants are strongly recommended to contact an appropriate Facility staff member to discuss requirements before applying, even if you have previously submitted a proposal.

Before applying, please note:

  • ISIS has returned to pre-Covid ways of running experiments. This means that you will need to provide a team to come to ISIS to run the experiment
  • If deuterated materials are required, it is strongly advised that you contact the ISIS Deuteration Facility ISISDeuterationFacility@stfc.ac.uk before submission to discuss feasibility

For all general FAP enquiries, please contact the ISIS User Office in the first instance

For all software enquiries and/or issues, please contact Facilities Business Systems & Support
