We are extending the 2019A proposal call deadline until 11:59 a.m. on September 20, 2018. This is due to the large number of users who are impacted by hurricane Florence and as such, will be unable to submit proposals by the original September 18 deadline.
The 11:59 a.m. September 20th deadline is a hard deadline. Please submit your proposals as soon as possible as we will not be able to troubleshoot proposal system issues at the last minute.
Extensions like this are extremely rare and will not become a normal part of the proposal process going forward.

The user office is currently accepting proposals from scientists who wish to conduct research at the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) and Spallation Neutron Source (SNS). This proposal call is for experiments anticipated to run at SNS and HFIR from January through June 2019.
Researchers are encouraged to contact the appropriate instrument scientist to make sure their research is feasible for the instrument. All proposals will be reviewed by an external science review committee for their potential for high-impact science. Principal investigators will be notified regarding the status of their proposals no later than November 12, 2018.
