Proposals at the OPAL Neutron Beam Facility (both cold- and thermal-neutron instruments) and National Deuteration Facility.
We have now had 6 months of reliable cold neutrons at OPAL since 18th July 2014, and we operate around 290 days per calendar year. A further 3 new instruments are being offered in this round.
Deadline 15 March 2014, for beam time between July and December 2014
ANSTO is open for proposals for the following neutron-beam instruments and facilities:
Echidna (high-resolution powder diffractometer)
Wombat (high-intensity powder diffractometer)
Koala (Laue diffractometer)
Kowari (strain scanner)
Platypus (reflectometer)
Quokka (pinhole small-angle-neutron scattering)
Taipan (thermal 3-axis spectrometer)
Dingo (neutron radiography/tomography/imaging) NEW INSTRUMENT
Pelican (cold-neutron time-of-flight spectrometer) NEW INSTRUMENT
Kookaburra (ultra-small-angle neutron scattering) NEW INSTRUMENT
Biological and Chemical Deuteration (at the National Deuteration Facility - NDF)
Proposals should be submitted using our on-line system, https://neutron.ansto.gov.au Deadline: 15 March 2014.
For single visit proposals for neutron instruments, select round “2014-2 Neutron”
For 3 year program proposals for neutron instruments, select “2014-2 Neutron Program”
For National Deuteration Facility proposals, select round "2014-2 Deuteration”
